Ingredients
- puff pastry - 200 grams
- goat cheese - 100 grams
- fresh basil - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- fresh chives - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- olive oil - 2 teaspoons
- garlic - 1 clove, minced
- black pepper - to taste
- salt - to taste
- egg - 1, beaten (for egg wash)
Steps
- Preheat the BBQ or oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 3 mm thick.
- Cut the pastry into 4 equal squares and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix together the goat cheese, chopped basil, chives, thyme, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Spread the goat cheese mixture evenly over the center of each pastry square, leaving a border of about 1 cm.
- Fold the edges of the pastry squares slightly over the filling to create a border.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the BBQ or oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Remove from the BBQ or oven and let cool slightly before serving.
