Ingredients

  • Octopus - 500 grams
  • Olive oil - 60 ml
  • Lemon juice - 30 ml
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 15 grams, chopped
  • Fresh thyme - 5 grams, chopped
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Black pepper - 2 grams
  • Smoked paprika - 2 grams
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
  • Capers - 15 grams, rinsed
  • Olives - 30 grams, pitted and sliced

Steps

  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the octopus and cook for about 45 minutes until tender. Drain and let cool.
  2. In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped thyme, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika to create a marinade.
  3. Once the octopus is cool, cut it into tentacles and add it to the marinade. Toss well to coat and let marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated octopus for about 3-4 minutes on each side until charred and slightly crispy.
  5. While the octopus is grilling, toss the cherry tomatoes, capers, and sliced olives in a bowl with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of salt.
  6. Serve the grilled octopus on a plate with the tomato mixture on the side, garnished with extra parsley.
