- Potatoes - 400 grams
- Heavy cream - 200 ml
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Gruyère cheese - 100 grams, grated
- Emmental cheese - 100 grams, grated
- Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly (about 3 mm thick) using a mandoline or a sharp knife.
- In a bowl, combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Grease a baking dish with olive oil and start layering half of the potato slices at the bottom.
- Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle half of the Gruyère and Emmental cheese on top.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheeses.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
- After 40 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot.
