Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and blanch the broccoli florets for 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens (about 5-7 minutes).
- Remove from heat and stir in 75 grams of Gruyère cheese, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper until melted and smooth.
- In a baking dish, combine the blanched broccoli and cheese sauce, mixing well to coat the broccoli evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining Gruyère cheese and Parmesan cheese on top, followed by the breadcrumbs.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
