  • Gluten-free all-purpose flour - 70 g
  • Large eggs - 2
  • Grated Gruyère cheese - 60 g
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Garlic powder - 1/4 tsp

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Once boiling, remove from heat and quickly stir in the gluten-free flour until fully combined and the mixture forms a ball.
  4. Allow the dough to cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth.
  5. Stir in the grated Gruyère cheese until evenly distributed.
  6. Using a spoon or a piping bag, drop tablespoon-sized mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each mound.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the gougères are puffed and golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
