Ingredients
- Water - 120 ml
- Unsalted butter - 30 g
- Gluten-free all-purpose flour - 70 g
- Large eggs - 2
- Grated Gruyère cheese - 60 g
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, remove from heat and quickly stir in the gluten-free flour until fully combined and the mixture forms a ball.
- Allow the dough to cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth.
- Stir in the grated Gruyère cheese until evenly distributed.
- Using a spoon or a piping bag, drop tablespoon-sized mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each mound.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the gougères are puffed and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
