Ingredients

  • Russet potatoes - 400 grams
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) - 500 ml
  • Sea salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) - 1 tablespoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into evenly sized sticks, about 1 cm thick.
  2. Soak the potato sticks in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
  4. Carefully add the potato sticks in batches to avoid overcrowding, and fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries and drain them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  6. While the fries are still hot, season them with sea salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
  7. If desired, garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
