Ingredients
- Russet potatoes - 400 grams
- Vegetable oil (for frying) - 500 ml
- Sea salt - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 1 tablespoon (optional)
Steps
- Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into evenly sized sticks, about 1 cm thick.
- Soak the potato sticks in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- Carefully add the potato sticks in batches to avoid overcrowding, and fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries and drain them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- While the fries are still hot, season them with sea salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
- If desired, garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
