Ingredients
- Russet potatoes - 2 medium (about 300g each)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into thin strips (about 1 cm wide).
- Place the potato strips in a large bowl and soak them in cold water for 10 minutes to remove excess starch.
- Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- In the bowl, toss the dried potato strips with olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
- Spread the seasoned potato strips in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the frites are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
