Ingredients

  • Russet potatoes - 2 medium (about 300g each)
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into thin strips (about 1 cm wide).
  3. Place the potato strips in a large bowl and soak them in cold water for 10 minutes to remove excess starch.
  4. Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  5. In the bowl, toss the dried potato strips with olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
  6. Spread the seasoned potato strips in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the frites are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
