Ingredients
- Ground beef (kosher) - 500 grams
- Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- Burger buns (kosher) - 2
- Swiss cheese slices - 2
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes or until they are caramelized and golden brown. Season with a pinch of salt.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Form the mixture into two equal patties.
- In a separate skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to allow the cheese to melt.
- Toast the burger buns in the skillet for about 1-2 minutes until golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the caramelized onions on top of the cheese-covered patties, then placing the patties on the toasted buns. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
