- Savoy cabbage - 200 grams
- Ricotta cheese - 100 grams
- Grated Gruyère cheese - 50 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Nutmeg - a pinch
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Breadcrumbs - 30 grams
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully add the Savoy cabbage leaves and blanch for 2-3 minutes until tender. Drain and cool under cold water, then pat dry.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, grated Gruyère cheese, egg, minced garlic, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Take a blanched cabbage leaf and place about a tablespoon of the cheese mixture at the base of the leaf. Roll it up tightly, tucking in the sides as you go to create a neat parcel. Repeat with remaining leaves and mixture.
- In a baking dish, drizzle olive oil on the bottom. Place the cabbage parcels seam side down in the dish.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top of the parcels and drizzle with a little more olive oil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and serve warm.
