Ingredients

  • Camembert cheese - 200 grams
  • Panko breadcrumbs - 50 grams
  • Whole wheat flour - 30 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Mixed greens - 50 grams
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a shallow dish, place the flour. In another dish, beat the egg. In a third dish, combine the panko breadcrumbs, chopped thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat the Camembert cheese first in flour, then dip it in the beaten egg, and finally roll it in the panko mixture until fully coated.
  4. Place the coated Camembert on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melting.
  6. While the cheese is baking, prepare a simple salad with mixed greens and cherry tomatoes, drizzling with balsamic vinegar.
  7. Once the Camembert is done, let it cool for a minute before serving with the salad.
