Ingredients

  • Puff pastry - 200 grams
  • Dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa) - 100 grams
  • Heavy cream - 100 ml
  • Powdered sugar - 20 grams
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 3 mm thickness.
  3. Cut the pastry into two rectangles, approximately 10 cm x 15 cm each.
  4. Place the pastry rectangles on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, and prick them with a fork to prevent puffing.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Let cool completely.
  6. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until just about to boil. Remove from heat.
  7. Add the dark chocolate, salt, and vanilla extract to the saucepan, stirring until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  8. Once the baked pastry is cool, carefully slice each rectangle in half horizontally to create two layers.
  9. Spread a generous layer of the chocolate ganache on one half of each pastry piece, then place the other half on top to create a sandwich.
  10. Dust the top of each croustillant with powdered sugar before serving.
