Ingredients
- Puff pastry - 200 grams
- Dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa) - 100 grams
- Heavy cream - 100 ml
- Powdered sugar - 20 grams
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 3 mm thickness.
- Cut the pastry into two rectangles, approximately 10 cm x 15 cm each.
- Place the pastry rectangles on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, and prick them with a fork to prevent puffing.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Let cool completely.
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until just about to boil. Remove from heat.
- Add the dark chocolate, salt, and vanilla extract to the saucepan, stirring until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Once the baked pastry is cool, carefully slice each rectangle in half horizontally to create two layers.
- Spread a generous layer of the chocolate ganache on one half of each pastry piece, then place the other half on top to create a sandwich.
- Dust the top of each croustillant with powdered sugar before serving.
