  • Almond flour - 50 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Dried thyme - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the grated Gruyère cheese, almond flour, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Add the egg to the mixture and stir until all ingredients are well combined and form a dough-like consistency.
  3. Using your hands, shape the mixture into small balls, about 2.5 cm in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat until shimmering.
  5. Carefully add the cheese balls to the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  6. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the cromesquis from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
