- Egg - 1 large
- Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Dried thyme - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - for frying
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the grated Gruyère cheese, almond flour, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the egg to the mixture and stir until all ingredients are well combined and form a dough-like consistency.
- Using your hands, shape the mixture into small balls, about 2.5 cm in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat until shimmering.
- Carefully add the cheese balls to the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the cromesquis from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
