Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 250 grams
  • Vegan butter - 150 grams, chilled
  • Cold water - 60 ml
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cocoa powder - 2 tablespoons
  • Dark chocolate (dairy-free) - 100 grams, chopped
  • Powdered sugar - for dusting
  • Salt - a pinch

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Cut the chilled vegan butter into small cubes and mix it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add the cold water gradually, mixing until a dough forms. Be careful not to overwork the dough.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 0.5 cm thick.
  7. Cut the dough into smaller rectangles (approximately 10cm x 15cm).
  8. Place a piece of chopped dark chocolate in the center of each rectangle.
  9. Fold the dough over the chocolate to create a pocket, sealing the edges by pressing with a fork.
  10. Place the filled chocolatines on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
