Ingredients

  • dark chocolate (70% cocoa) - 100g
  • unsalted butter - 50g
  • large eggs - 2
  • granulated sugar - 50g
  • vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • cocoa powder (for dusting) - 1 tbsp
  • sea salt - a pinch

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) and grease two ramekins with butter, then dust with cocoa powder.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt until well combined and slightly frothy.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate and butter mixture into the egg mixture and gently fold until fully incorporated.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared ramekins.
  6. Place the ramekins on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
  7. Remove from the oven and let sit for 1-2 minutes before carefully inverting each ramekin onto a plate.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
