- Almond flour - 150 grams
- Coconut oil - 30 grams, melted
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Egg - 1 large
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Apples - 2 medium, peeled and diced
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, melted coconut oil, honey, egg, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- While the dough is chilling, combine the diced apples, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Set aside.
- On a parchment-lined surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 5mm thick.
- Cut the dough into circles, approximately 10cm in diameter.
- Place a spoonful of the apple mixture onto one half of each circle, then fold the other half over and press the edges to seal.
- Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch and to ensure they are well sealed.
- Place the chaussons on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
