  • Coconut oil - 30 grams, melted
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Apples - 2 medium, peeled and diced
  • Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, melted coconut oil, honey, egg, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  4. While the dough is chilling, combine the diced apples, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Set aside.
  5. On a parchment-lined surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 5mm thick.
  6. Cut the dough into circles, approximately 10cm in diameter.
  7. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture onto one half of each circle, then fold the other half over and press the edges to seal.
  8. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch and to ensure they are well sealed.
  9. Place the chaussons on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
