Ingredients

  • Ground beef (lean) - 300 grams
  • Goat cheese (chèvre) - 100 grams
  • Fresh thyme - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Arugula - 50 grams
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, chopped thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into two equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, place the goat cheese on top of each patty to melt slightly.
  5. While the burgers are cooking, toss the arugula and cherry tomatoes in a bowl with balsamic vinegar and a pinch of salt.
  6. To assemble, place each burger patty on a bun and top with the arugula salad. Serve immediately.
