Ingredients
- White fish fillet (e.g., cod or sole) - 300 grams
- Fresh lime juice - 60 ml
- Fresh lemon juice - 30 ml
- Red onion - 1 small, finely diced
- Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, quartered
- Cucumber - 1 small, diced
- Fresh cilantro - 15 grams, chopped
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Avocado - 1 medium, diced (for serving)
Steps
- Cut the white fish fillet into small, bite-sized cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Pour the fresh lime juice and lemon juice over the fish, ensuring it is fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for about 15-20 minutes until the fish is opaque and 'cooked' by the citrus.
- While the fish is marinating, prepare the vegetables: finely dice the red onion, quarter the cherry tomatoes, and dice the cucumber.
- Once the fish is ready, drain excess citrus juice and gently mix in the diced red onion, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and chopped cilantro.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix gently to combine.
- Serve the ceviche de bar in bowls, topped with diced avocado and additional cilantro if desired.
