Ingredients
- Almond flour - 100 grams
- Powdered sugar - 100 grams
- Milk - 200 ml
- Eggs - 2 large
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Butter - 50 grams
- Salt - a pinch
- Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) and grease your canelé molds with melted butter.
- In a saucepan, heat the milk and butter over low heat until the butter is melted and the mixture is warm, then remove from heat.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the almond flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Slowly add the warm milk mixture to the egg mixture, whisking continuously to prevent cooking the eggs.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until smooth and well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared canelé molds, filling them about 3/4 full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, until the canelés have risen and are deep golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool in the molds for about 10 minutes before carefully removing them.
- Allow the canelés to cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
