Ingredients

  • Espresso - 120 ml
  • Whole milk - 120 ml
  • Heavy cream - 30 ml
  • Cocoa powder - 1 tsp
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Vanilla extract - 1/4 tsp
  • Dark chocolate shavings (optional) - 1 tbsp

Steps

  1. Brew 120 ml of strong espresso using your preferred method, such as a stovetop espresso maker or an espresso machine.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat 120 ml of whole milk and 30 ml of heavy cream over low heat. Stir gently until steaming but not boiling.
  3. Remove the milk mixture from heat and whisk it vigorously or use a milk frother until it becomes frothy and doubled in volume.
  4. In a small cup, mix the brewed espresso with 1 tsp of sugar and 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract until dissolved.
  5. Pour the frothed milk mixture over the espresso, allowing the foam to sit on top.
  6. Sprinkle 1 tsp of cocoa powder over the top for garnish.
  7. If desired, add dark chocolate shavings on top for an extra touch of indulgence.
