Ingredients
- 300g ground beef (80/20)
- 50ml Burgundy red wine
- 1 clove garlic - minced
- 1 small shallot - finely chopped
- 1 tsp fresh thyme - chopped
- 1 tsp fresh rosemary - chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- 2 brioche burger buns
- 50g Gruyère cheese - sliced
- 50g arugula
- 4 slices crispy bacon
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, Burgundy red wine, minced garlic, shallot, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Form the mixture into two equal patties, about 2.5 cm thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium rare, or until your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Gruyère cheese on each patty and cover to melt.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the brioche buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading Dijon mustard and mayonnaise on the bottom bun, followed by the patty with melted cheese, crispy bacon, and a handful of arugula. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your Burgundy Beef Burgers!
