Ingredients
- Ground beef (80/20) - 300 grams
- Shallot - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Dijon mustard - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Pickles - 4 slices
- Mustard aioli - 2 tablespoons (made with 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, and 1 teaspoon lemon juice)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped shallot, minced garlic, parsley, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the mustard aioli by mixing the Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, and lemon juice in a small bowl.
- Toast the whole wheat burger buns in a toaster or on a dry skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading a tablespoon of mustard aioli on each bun bottom, adding a lettuce leaf, the cooked patty, tomato slices, and pickles. Top with the bun lid.
- Serve immediately with a side of your choice.
