- Seitan - 200g
- Breadcrumbs - 50g
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Whole grain burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Vegan mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Mustard - 1 tablespoon
- Pickles - 2 slices
Steps
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- In a bowl, crumble the seitan into small pieces and mix in breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper.
- Form the mixture into two burger patties.
- Cook the patties in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.
- Toast the burger buns in the same skillet for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
- Spread vegan mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, followed by mustard.
- Place a lettuce leaf on each bun, add the cooked seitan patty, top with sliced tomato and pickles, and finish with the top half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
