  • Lean pork sausage - 250 grams
  • Whole grain burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Fresh spinach - 50 grams
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2 medium, thinly sliced
  • Dijon mustard - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat your grill or a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix the lean pork sausage with salt and black pepper. Form into two equal patties.
  3. Cook the sausage patties on the grill or skillet for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and browned.
  4. While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the whole grain burger buns on a separate skillet or in a toaster.
  5. Assemble the burgers by spreading Dijon mustard on the bottom bun, followed by a layer of fresh spinach, the sausage patty, sliced tomato, and red onion.
