Ingredients
- Ground pork - 300 grams
- Granny Smith apple - 1 medium, grated
- Shallot - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- Whole grain burger buns - 2
- Mixed salad greens - 50 grams
- Mustard - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, grated apple, chopped shallot, minced garlic, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal patties, making them slightly larger than the burger buns.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice golden crust.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the whole grain burger buns in a separate pan or under the broiler until lightly browned.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading mustard on the bottom half of each bun, adding a pork patty, and topping with mixed salad greens.
- Place the top half of the bun on each burger and serve immediately with additional apple slices, if desired.
