Ingredients

  • Pork mince - 250 grams
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Dijon mustard - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Whole grain burger buns - 2
  • Romaine lettuce - 2 leaves
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
  • Avocado - 1/2, sliced

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the pork mince, minced garlic, chopped parsley, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 2 equal patties, making them slightly larger than the buns.
  3. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked through and browned.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly in another skillet or toaster.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a pork patty, tomato slices, red onion, and avocado slices.
  6. Spread a little extra Dijon mustard on the top half of the bun and place it on top of the assembled burger.
  7. Serve immediately with a side of fresh salad or baked sweet potato fries.
