  • Oats - 50 grams, ground into flour

  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Avocado - 1/2, sliced

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, mash the cooked red kidney beans with a fork or potato masher until slightly chunky.
  2. Add the ground oats, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the mashed beans. Mix well until combined.
  3. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and heated through.
  5. While the patties cook, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly in the skillet, cut side down.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a burger patty, sliced tomato, and avocado. Top with the other half of the bun.
