Ingredients

  • Ground beef (kosher) - 400 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Burger buns (kosher) - 2
  • Cheese (kosher, optional) - 2 slices
  • Potatoes - 2 medium (about 300 grams each)
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic aioli - 4 tablespoons
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F) for the fries.
  2. Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into thin strips to form fries.
  3. In a bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well coated.
  4. Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  5. While the fries are baking, prepare the burger patties. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until just combined.
  6. Form the mixture into 2 equal-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  7. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, adding cheese slices during the last minute if desired.
  8. Toast the burger buns in the skillet or oven until lightly golden.
  9. Assemble the burgers by spreading garlic aioli on the bottom half of the bun, placing the cooked patty on top, and adding chopped parsley before topping with the other half of the bun.
  10. Serve the burgers alongside the crispy fries.
