- Portobello mushrooms - 2 large
- Ground beef (80/20) - 300 grams
- Gruyère cheese - 50 grams, sliced
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Mustard - 2 teaspoons (for serving)
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)
Steps
- Preheat the grill or a skillet over medium heat.
- Clean the portobello mushrooms and remove the stems. Brush them with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Form the mixture into two patties.
- Add the mushroom caps to the grill or skillet, gill side down, and cook for about 5 minutes until slightly softened. Flip them over and place a slice of Gruyère cheese on each cap.
- At the same time, cook the beef patties on the grill or skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
- Once the patties are cooked, place each patty on top of a mushroom cap with melted cheese. Allow them to rest for a minute.
- To serve, place the mushroom burgers on large lettuce leaves, add a teaspoon of mustard on top, and wrap them up like a burger.
