Ingredients
- Duck breast - 300 grams
- Whole grain burger buns - 2 units
- Fresh arugula - 50 grams
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Dijon mustard - 1 tablespoon
- Honey - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
Steps
- Begin by finely chopping the duck breast and mixing it with minced garlic, chopped thyme, salt, and black pepper. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the duck patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach a desired doneness (medium-rare is recommended).
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the sauce by mixing Dijon mustard and honey in a small bowl. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Toast the whole grain burger buns lightly on a separate pan or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading the honey-Dijon sauce on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked duck patty, fresh arugula, tomato slices, and red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your Burger de Canard with a side of mixed greens or sweet potato fries.
