Ingredients
- Ground beef - 300 grams
- Brie cheese - 100 grams
- Fresh thyme - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Butter - 1 tablespoon
- Large lettuce leaves (e.g., butter lettuce) - 4 leaves
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Dijon mustard - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped thyme, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
- In the last minute of cooking, place slices of brie cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and red onion slices.
- Once the cheese has melted, remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
- To assemble, place a beef patty on a lettuce leaf, add a slice of tomato, a few onion rings, and a dollop of Dijon mustard. Top with another lettuce leaf to create a 'burger'.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your Burger Breton!
