Ingredients
- Ground beef - 300 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
- Onion - 1 medium, diced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Chili flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Gluten-free burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Sliced cheese (optional) - 2 slices
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well and shape into two patties.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove from skillet and keep warm.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté the diced onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the diced tomato and chili flakes to the skillet, stirring to combine. Simmer for another 5 minutes until the mixture is slightly thickened. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
- To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each gluten-free bun. Top with a beef patty, spoon the piperade sauce over the patty, and add a slice of cheese if desired. Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
