Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
  • Green bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
  • Onion - 1 medium, diced
  • Tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • Chili flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Gluten-free burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Sliced cheese (optional) - 2 slices

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well and shape into two patties.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove from skillet and keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté the diced onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the diced tomato and chili flakes to the skillet, stirring to combine. Simmer for another 5 minutes until the mixture is slightly thickened. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
  5. To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each gluten-free bun. Top with a beef patty, spoon the piperade sauce over the patty, and add a slice of cheese if desired. Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
