- Lean ground beef - 250 grams
- Whole grain burger buns - 2 pieces
- Comté cheese (or Gruyère) - 60 grams, sliced
- Fresh spinach - 50 grams
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Dijon mustard - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and black pepper, mix well, and shape into two patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Comté cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
- While the patties cook, lightly toast the whole grain burger buns in a separate pan or in the oven.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each bun, then add a layer of fresh spinach, the cheeseburger patty, sliced tomato, and red onion.
