- Warm milk (about 37°C) - 100 ml
- Salt - 5 grams
- Eggs - 2 large
- Unsalted butter (softened) - 100 grams
- Praline paste - 50 grams
- Candied fruit (mixed) - 30 grams
Steps
- In a bowl, mix warm milk and active dry yeast, letting it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt, then add the yeast mixture and eggs.
- Knead the dough by hand or with a stand mixer until smooth, about 10 minutes.
- Gradually add softened butter, continuing to knead until fully incorporated and the dough is elastic.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and knead in the praline paste until evenly distributed.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in a greased baking pan.
- Cover with plastic wrap and allow it to rise for another 30-40 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Once the dough has risen, sprinkle candied fruit on top and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
