Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 250 grams
  • Granulated sugar - 50 grams
  • Active dry yeast - 7 grams
  • Warm milk (about 37°C) - 100 ml
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • Unsalted butter (softened) - 100 grams
  • Praline paste - 50 grams
  • Candied fruit (mixed) - 30 grams

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk and active dry yeast, letting it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt, then add the yeast mixture and eggs.
  3. Knead the dough by hand or with a stand mixer until smooth, about 10 minutes.
  4. Gradually add softened butter, continuing to knead until fully incorporated and the dough is elastic.
  5. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough and knead in the praline paste until evenly distributed.
  7. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in a greased baking pan.
  8. Cover with plastic wrap and allow it to rise for another 30-40 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  10. Once the dough has risen, sprinkle candied fruit on top and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
