- Beef sirloin - 300 grams
- Red wine (preferably Burgundy) - 120 ml
- Beef broth - 60 ml
- Carrot - 1 medium, sliced
- Onion - 1 small, diced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- Bay leaf - 1
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the red wine, beef broth, thyme, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper. Add the beef sirloin and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the onions and garlic until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the sliced carrots and mushrooms to the pan, cooking for another 5 minutes until tender.
- Remove the beef from the marinade and pat it dry. Reserve the marinade for later use.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the beef sirloin for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, basting with the reserved marinade during cooking.
- Once cooked to your liking, let the beef rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the sliced beef topped with the sautéed vegetables and garnish with fresh parsley.
