- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh thyme - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Sea salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2 small, thinly sliced
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Dijon mustard - 2 teaspoons
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, parsley, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 2-3 cm thick.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the toppings. Arrange the romaine lettuce leaves on two plates as a base.
- Once the burgers are cooked, place each patty on the lettuce leaves. Top with sliced tomatoes, red onion, and avocado.
- Drizzle with Dijon mustard and add any additional seasonings if desired before serving.
