Ingredients

  • Ground beef (80/20) - 400 grams
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh thyme - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Sea salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2 small, thinly sliced
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Dijon mustard - 2 teaspoons

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, parsley, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 2-3 cm thick.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the toppings. Arrange the romaine lettuce leaves on two plates as a base.
  5. Once the burgers are cooked, place each patty on the lettuce leaves. Top with sliced tomatoes, red onion, and avocado.
  6. Drizzle with Dijon mustard and add any additional seasonings if desired before serving.
