Ingredients

  • lean ground beef - 250 grams
  • goat cheese - 50 grams
  • fresh herbs (thyme, parsley) - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • caramelized onions - 100 grams
  • arugula - 50 grams
  • brioche buns - 2
  • olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • salt - 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined and form into two patties.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until cooked to your desired level.
  3. While the patties are cooking, in a small bowl, mix the goat cheese with the chopped herbs until well combined.
  4. In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed and add the sliced onions. Cook on low heat until they are soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  5. Toast the brioche buns lightly on another pan or in the oven until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by spreading the herbed goat cheese on the bottom half of the bun, placing the beef patty on top, followed by the caramelized onions and a handful of arugula. Top with the other half of the bun.
  7. Serve immediately with a side salad or sweet potato fries.
