Ingredients
- Ground beef - 400 grams
- Auvergne blue cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Mustard - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty, ensuring they are slightly larger than your desired final size as they will shrink while cooking.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned.
- Flip the patties and cook for another 4-5 minutes on the other side. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with crumbled Auvergne blue cheese, allowing it to melt slightly.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
- To assemble the burgers, place each patty on a large lettuce leaf, then top with slices of tomato and avocado. Add a dollop of mustard on top, and wrap the lettuce around the filling to serve.
