Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 400 grams
  • Auvergne blue cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Mustard - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty, ensuring they are slightly larger than your desired final size as they will shrink while cooking.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned.
  4. Flip the patties and cook for another 4-5 minutes on the other side. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with crumbled Auvergne blue cheese, allowing it to melt slightly.
  5. Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
  6. To assemble the burgers, place each patty on a large lettuce leaf, then top with slices of tomato and avocado. Add a dollop of mustard on top, and wrap the lettuce around the filling to serve.
