  • Ground beef (lean) - 400 grams
  • Onion (thinly sliced) - 1 medium
  • Bacon (diced) - 100 grams
  • Crème fraîche - 100 grams
  • Emmental cheese (grated) - 100 grams
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Chives (chopped) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Preheat your grill or pan over medium heat.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the diced bacon until crispy. Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the sliced onions and cook until they are caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside with the bacon.
  4. Form the ground beef into two burger patties and season with salt and black pepper.
  5. Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  6. During the last minute of cooking, place the grated Emmental cheese on top of each patty to melt.
  7. To assemble the burger, spread a generous layer of crème fraîche on the bottom half of the burger bun.
  8. Place the cheesy beef patty on top, followed by the caramelized onions and crispy bacon.
  9. Sprinkle chopped chives on top and cover with the other half of the bun.
