Ingredients

  • Pork tenderloin - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Shaoxing wine - 1 tablespoon
  • Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon (optional)
  • Skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes if wooden)

Steps

  1. Cut the pork tenderloin into 2 cm cubes and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, five-spice powder, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, sesame oil, and chili flakes to create a marinade.
  3. Add the pork cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to allow flavors to penetrate.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated pork cubes onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pork is cooked through and has a nice char.
  7. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
