Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Firm tofu - 150 grams, crumbled
- Shiitake mushrooms - 100 grams, finely chopped
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - For frying
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and water to form a dough. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix the crumbled tofu, chopped shiitake mushrooms, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined to make the filling.
- After resting, roll the dough into a long log and cut it into 10 equal pieces. Flatten each piece into a circle about 7 cm in diameter.
- Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each dough circle, then fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges to seal well.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Place the dumplings in the skillet and fry for about 3-4 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Add 50 ml of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Let the dumplings steam for an additional 5 minutes until the water has evaporated and the dumplings are cooked through.
- Serve hot with additional soy sauce or chili oil for dipping.
