Ingredients
- White fish fillets (e.g., cod or tilapia) - 300 grams
- Ginger - 10 grams, finely sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Scallions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Rice wine (Shaoxing wine) - 1 tablespoon
- Chili oil - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh cilantro - 5 grams, for garnish
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, rice wine, minced garlic, salt, and chili oil to create the marinade.
- Place the fish fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Add the sliced ginger and chopped scallions on top. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Prepare a steamer by bringing water to a boil in a pot. If you don’t have a steamer, you can use a heatproof plate set over a pot of boiling water.
- Place the marinated fish and toppings on a heatproof plate and steam for about 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the plate from the steamer. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
