- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Warm water - 100 milliliters
- Ground halal beef or lamb - 150 grams
- Cabbage, finely chopped - 50 grams
- Carrot, grated - 30 grams
- Green onion, chopped - 2 stalks
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce (halal) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Egg, beaten - 1 for egg wash
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and warm water until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix the ground halal meat, chopped cabbage, grated carrot, green onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Divide the rested dough into small portions (about 20 grams each) and roll each portion into a circle about 10 cm in diameter.
- Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape, pinching the edges to seal tightly.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the dumplings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops of the dumplings with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
