Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Active dry yeast - 5 grams
  • Warm water - 100 milliliters
  • Sugar - 10 grams
  • Salt - 2 grams
  • Vegetable oil - 15 milliliters
  • Mushrooms, finely chopped - 100 grams
  • Carrot, grated - 50 grams
  • Green onions, chopped - 30 grams
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Soy sauce - 15 milliliters
  • Sesame oil - 5 milliliters
  • Black pepper - 1 gram

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and vegetable oil, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 30 minutes.
  4. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. Heat a pan over medium heat, add a splash of vegetable oil, and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  5. Add chopped mushrooms, grated carrot, and green onions to the pan. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until softened.
  6. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.
  7. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle about 10 cm in diameter.
  8. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each dough circle, fold the edges over the filling, and pinch to seal.
  9. Place the buns on parchment paper squares and let them rest for 15 minutes.
  10. Steam the buns in a steamer over boiling water for 15 minutes until fluffy and cooked through. Serve warm.
