Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Warm water - 100 milliliters
- Sugar - 10 grams
- Salt - 2 grams
- Vegetable oil - 15 milliliters
- Mushrooms, finely chopped - 100 grams
- Carrot, grated - 50 grams
- Green onions, chopped - 30 grams
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Soy sauce - 15 milliliters
- Sesame oil - 5 milliliters
- Black pepper - 1 gram
Steps
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and vegetable oil, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 30 minutes.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. Heat a pan over medium heat, add a splash of vegetable oil, and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Add chopped mushrooms, grated carrot, and green onions to the pan. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle about 10 cm in diameter.
- Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each dough circle, fold the edges over the filling, and pinch to seal.
- Place the buns on parchment paper squares and let them rest for 15 minutes.
- Steam the buns in a steamer over boiling water for 15 minutes until fluffy and cooked through. Serve warm.
