Steps
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain.
- In a bowl, combine the rinsed rice, water, diced carrot, peas, sliced mushrooms, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and a pinch of salt.
- Mix the ingredients well and let them soak for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Transfer the mixture to a heat-proof dish that fits into your steamer.
- Fill the steamer with water and bring it to a boil, then place the dish with the rice mixture into the steamer.
- Cover and steam for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
