Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour - 150 grams
  • Warm water - 75 ml
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Firm tofu - 100 grams, crumbled
  • Chinese cabbage - 100 grams, shredded
  • Carrot - 1 medium, grated
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1, beaten
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, for garnish

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, warm water, olive oil, and salt. Knead to form a smooth dough, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F). Roll out the dough into a circle and press it into a tart pan, trimming any excess.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil and sauté the shredded Chinese cabbage, grated carrot, and diced bell pepper for about 5 minutes until slightly softened.
  4. Add the crumbled tofu, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper to the skillet. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly. Stir in the beaten egg until well combined.
  6. Pour the vegetable and tofu mixture into the prepared tart crust, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the tart is golden brown and firm to the touch.
  8. Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and sprinkle with sesame seeds before slicing and serving.
