Ingredients

  • Ground Halal pork - 250 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Spring onions (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Breadcrumbs - 50 grams
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Cucumber (sliced) - 1/2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Chili sauce - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground Halal pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, chopped spring onions, sugar, black pepper, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Cook the pork patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and browned.
  4. While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns lightly in another skillet or under a broiler.
  5. Once the patties are done, assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, adding a lettuce leaf, placing the pork patty on top, and then topping with sliced cucumber.
  6. Drizzle chili sauce over the cucumbers, then place the top half of the bun on each burger. Serve immediately.
