Ingredients

  • Wheat noodles - 200 grams
  • Ground beef (or lamb) - 150 grams
  • Fermented soybean paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 500 ml

Steps

  1. Cook the wheat noodles according to package instructions in boiling salted water until al dente, then drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking.
  2. In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef (or lamb) to the pan, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the fermented soybean paste, soy sauce, and sugar, mixing well to combine.
  5. Pour in 200 ml of water and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly.
  6. Adjust the seasoning with more soy sauce if necessary, then remove from heat.
  7. To serve, place a portion of noodles in a bowl, top with the meat sauce, and garnish with julienned cucumber, chopped spring onions, and a drizzle of sesame oil.
