Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour - 200 grams
  • Warm water - 100 ml
  • Active dry yeast - 5 grams
  • Honey - 10 grams
  • Ground chicken - 150 grams
  • Chopped bok choy - 100 grams
  • Grated ginger - 5 grams
  • Soy sauce - 15 ml
  • Sesame oil - 5 ml
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Salt - 2 grams
  • Black pepper - 1 gram

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, active dry yeast, honey, and warm water to form a dough. Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  2. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the ground chicken, chopped bok choy, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle about 10 cm in diameter.
  5. Place a spoonful of the chicken filling in the center of each dough circle. Gather the edges and pinch to seal, forming a bun.
  6. Place the buns on parchment paper squares and let them rest for another 10 minutes.
  7. Steam the buns in a steamer over boiling water for about 15 minutes until they are cooked through and fluffy.
  8. Serve warm with additional soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
