Ingredients
- White fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia) - 200 grams
- Black bean sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic, minced - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions, sliced - 2 tablespoons
- Red bell pepper, thinly sliced - 1/2 medium
- Cilantro, chopped - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- 1. Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- 2. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the ginger and garlic, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- 3. Place the fish fillets in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Remove the fish from the skillet and set aside.
- 4. In the same skillet, add the black bean sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir well and heat until it begins to simmer.
- 5. Add the red bell pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender.
- 6. Return the fish to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to warm the fish through and meld the flavors.
- 7. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and chopped cilantro before serving.
