- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced

- Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Coconut aminos - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Five-spice powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lettuce leaves (e.g., butter or romaine) - 4 large leaves
- Carrot - 1 small, julienned
- Cucumber - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Fresh cilantro - a handful, chopped
- Lime - 1, cut into wedges
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onion, coconut aminos, sesame oil, and five-spice powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Form the mixture into 4 small patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the patties. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through and browned.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the lettuce leaves, julienned carrot, and sliced cucumber on a serving platter.
- Once the patties are done, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
- To assemble, place a patty on a lettuce leaf, top with carrot, cucumber, and chopped cilantro. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top.
- Wrap the lettuce around the filling and enjoy as a delicious, Paleo-friendly burger.
